All of our trainers are experienced dog owners who have become interested in dog training and helping other
people train their pets.
Some compete in obedience, agility and field trials. Others show their dogs, or have more unusual
interests such as sled racing. Others take part in demonstrations and displays.
The trainers and others who help with the club give their time free of charge. We make no profit
from the monies collected, everything goes towards paying the rent and other club requirements.
There are different ways to teach the exercises. Some methods will be effective with your dog, some
less so. Each trainer has a favourite method. If you and your dog are not making progress with one method,
you will be shown alternatives.
We will show you many different exercises: walking with your dog at heel, change of pace and
direction, stand, sit and down position and keeping your dog in positions until you allow it to move.
You can progress to working your dog off-lead and learn how to send it away from you whilst
keeping control. We also teach your dog to retrieve different items and other exercises that are fun for you and your
dog.
In the higher classes you can learn scent and more advanced exercises.
